Getting Feedback and Making Changes
My dear friend Joe gave some awesome feedback on the proof copy. He was also kind enough to allow me to share it with you all:
First I want to thank you for the opportunity to be one of the recipients of a proof copy of this book.
Second, as someone who is not all that interested in poetry, I really enjoyed the poems, and resonated with some of them. Unlike how other poems use extensive allegories to allude to there meaning, the poems in The House on the Hill use common everyday language to allude to the point of the poem, while also keeping it close to the intended meaning. It is definitely more approachable to regular people than other poetry books.
Finally, I would like to suggest adding an illustration to some of the pages that feel a bit empty.
Joseph
What is most interesting is that someone who doesn't like poetry much finds mine enjoyable. Maybe this book will help more people know the joys of verse. :)
The illustrations are in the works. Every page will not get one, mostly because we'd like this to feel somewhat rustic and old fashioned, like finding an old book in an antique store.
Thanks for your feedback Joe. A bit of this is going on the back cover. I hope you don't mind. ;)
As soon as it is available, you will be able to buy the book HERE!
